Parten vs Tolt and Referral Factory

These two products are not substitutes for each other, and Parten is not a substitute for both of them.

Tolt

Tolt is what a Stripe SaaS reaches for when Rewardful feels like more product than the program needs. Links, commissions, a partner view, and a payout step. It is the right shape for a founder who wants affiliates this week and will live with operating payouts as their own workflow.

Parten is heavier in one place and lighter in another. Heavier, because the company connects Stripe and every partner onboards to Express before a transfer can run. Lighter, because there is no payout export. The payable balance is commissions whose hold has passed, and Pay moves that balance with two Stripe transfers.

If you have five affiliates and PayPal is fine, Tolt is the smaller tool. If finance already refuses a payout file that is not a Stripe transfer, Parten is the smaller tool, because the file does not exist.

Referral Factory

Referral Factory is a referral program, not an affiliate tracker with a nicer coat of paint. Branded pages, widgets, pop-ups, unique links, codes, QR, and lead forms. Rewards are cash, gift cards, discounts, credits, coupons, or something you define. They integrate with HubSpot, Salesforce, Stripe, and a long list of everything else. The buyer can be offline. The referrer can be a customer, not a publisher.

Parten will not replace that. There is no QR journey and no gift-card catalog. A Parten referral is a link, a Stripe customer, and an invoice.

Where the programs overlap is the Stripe customer who was referred by another customer. Referral Factory can pay that with a coupon or a manual reward. Parten pays the referrer a commission from the invoice, after a hold, as a Connect transfer, and can record a separate percent reward for the buyer. If the reward is "10% off for both of you," Referral Factory is the product. If the reward is "20% of collected revenue, reversed if they refund," Parten is the product.

The short version

Tolt when the program is small and a payout run is acceptable. Referral Factory when the referral is a customer journey, including offline. Parten when the only system of record you want is the Stripe account that already has the money.
